Scrum InfoGraphs Anyone?

By: Brad

The other day I annexed an unused desk at work and turned it into a “break room”, a space away from my desk where I (and anyone else for that matter, all are welcome) can recharge during lunch. We do have a cafeteria in the building but its cold, hard and has a primary purpose of consuming food. The break room is warm, comfortable and has a primary purpose of relaxing and recharging the mind; more a lounge/library really. I took all the magazines and books that I was hording at my desk and put them into this new “break room” so that others could have access to them and tried to set it up as a warm and friendly place to relax, refuel, and recharge.

After a few days of using it I felt that the empty cubical walls were depressing so I decided to put up some posters for the Agile Manifesto; Still I had a lot of free wall space. Since I was re-reading the Scrum Guide at the time and we were starting to educate Product Owners who we hadn’t worked with yet but are planing to in the up coming months on Scrum I thought it might be fun to make some Info Graphs for the Scrum Guide and put them up in the “break room” too.

Since I as a youth was a member of Scouts Canada (for something like 15 years) and as a Beaver they told us “Sharing, Sharing, Sharing” here are the Scrum InfoGraphs I made hope you enjoy them.

This Infograph is rather large ( 1287×5775 ) so to see the full thing click here. This is an end to end description of the Scrum Framework complete with definition of roles, artifacts, and events shown in order of occurance. Note there is a photo used to visualize the definition of the Daily Scrum, technically its a Ruck not a Scrum but I choose it because well that’s me with the maple leaf on the thigh 🙂 go Condors!

Until next time think imaginatively and design creatively

My interest in computer programming started back in high school and Software Development has remained a hobby of mine ever since. I graduated as a Computer Engineering Technologist and have been working as a Software Developer for many years. I believe that software is crafted; understanding that how it is done is as important as getting it done. I enjoy the aesthetics in crafting elegant solutions to complex problems and revel in the knowledge that my code is maintainable and thus, will have longevity. I hold the designation Certified Technician (C.Tech.) with the Ontario Association of Computer Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT), have been certified as a Professional Scrum Master level 1 (PSM I) and as a Professional Scrum Developer level 1 (PSD I) by Scrum.org as well as designated as an Officially Certified Qt Developer by the Qt Company.
